As a modern business metropolis, Essen is home to DAX corporations and numerous large and medium-sized companies. The roots of FOM lie in Essen. In 1994, the first generation of FOM students began academic training alongside their jobs. The cooperation with the companies in the region and their associations is therefore particularly close. Almost all courses from the various university areas are offered at the Essen University Center. The venue is mainly the centrally located training and lecture hall center on Herkulesstrasse. Students and interested parties will also find the offices of the student advisory service and the management and study management there.

Description

During your degree course, you will have the opportunity to get to know potential employers in face-to-face discussions as part of company visits and build up a small network. Overview:

You will acquire knowledge of operational application systems as well as knowledge and information management. You will also deal with IT risks such as cybercrime, targeted risk prevention, and data protection in the company. As part of project work such as “IT project management & software engineering”, you will train to apply the interdisciplinary knowledge you have acquired in practice and to implement and manage IT projects that support management in strategic decision-making and optimize internal processes.

The skills acquired enable the students to take on responsible specialist and management tasks at the interface between IT and corporate management, e.g. as IT project and process manager or knowledge and information manager.

Overview:

The master’s degree in industrial engineering at FOM University teaches the necessary skills – from the design of product life cycles in the digitized working world to the optimization of the sale of industrial goods and the management of international, complex projects. In the Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s degree, you will deal with the fundamentals of materials technology, types of construction, and the structure of electrical machines – from simple drives in the consumer goods sector to complex production lines.
